It has been a very long time since I have shared a post like this one. I figure, since I didnt make a TBR this month, why not show you guys what I have currently out from the library. Some of these I just keep checking out over and over again, and some of them are newer that sounded good so I just grabbed them. At the end of the post I’ll also share what I have from Kindle Unlimited because all of my library books are on the kindle so why not share them both. I have a couple different library cards thanks to traveling for work, which is why I’m able to have so many books on loan at one time.
I am very, very, very, late with this and I want to apologize. I almost had a perfect month of reading last month with my kindle.
AND THEN I forgot one day and ruined my whole streak. honestly, I was pretty upset over the whole thing as you can see it ruined the start of April a little for me. But I did get a lot of books finished last month, and I’m very close to already hitting my Goodreads goal for the year. What are your thoughts on changing the goal if you hit it early? While mine may be a smaller number, I think I will leave it as is because I was not expecting to be able to read as much as I have this year. It’s been an uphill battle ever since Covid hit with getting back in to the reading that I used to be able to do. Just 5 years ago in 2018 I had already finished 50 books for the year by this point. So for myself, I think where I’m at is a good point and I will leave it as is to show how much more I could achieve than I had originally thought. Anyway, enough with the babbling, let me get in to the wrap up of books from last month.
I think because the trend of my stuck on repeat is a lot of Omega X and not a lot of other groups, I may skip that for this month unless I decide on a different way to list things. So instead I’m going to be posting about the Comebacks and Debuts that I’m really excited for this coming month today. I did buy some albums over the weekend, would you guys like a post of my pulls on here?? I never know what I should do but I want to be posting more content. For now, let’s get in to what I’m excited to check out this month!
March 1st OnlyOneOf – Se0l Drift
I absolutely am so excited for this comeback, I know it’s past a few days but it really sounds so good. I am also extra excited because I’ll be seeing them in about a month and be reunited with one of my really good friends in Texas to see them a second time!
March 6th Cravity – Groovy
I’m actually a little nervous about this one. I feel like it’s always hit or miss for me with Cravity title tracks which is why I may have not taken the full plunge in to Luvity life. But I really liked Adrenaline so I have my fingers crossed for a similar style and less Party Rock with this one.
March 7th Xydo – Bubble
Do I really need to explain why I’m excited for a new Xydo song??
March 7th Cherry Bullet -Cherry Dash
I legit thought they were never going to have a comeback again and I’ve just been sitting wondering when we would hear from them.Honestly since it’s FNC I’m not surprised but I hope the girls do really well with this comeback they deserve it
March 10th Tan – ESSEGE
Their “tour” has me really upset so this song better be a banger because currently they’re 3/4 for me liking their title tracks so while I have hope it’s also really being promoted as something emotional that I typically will not enjoy
Twice – Ready To Be
Really excited they’re coming back to America this year too because I will be seeing them as a birthday present to myself thank you very much, I missed out last time and I haven’t seen them in concert since pre-covid so it will be happening I do not care what I have to do
March 13th Kai – Rover
Its Kai, need I say more? Although this probably will be our last comeback from him before he dips to the military, I do hope we can have one full EXO comeback before he leaves with Sehun. Please evil Hybe at least give us that.
March 14th Orbit – I Can’t Breathe
Yes, I’m sure you’re thinking who is this??? It’s a J-pop group but I am excited for this as well. It’s our first official comeback while their Korean members are serving in the military so it’s a little bittersweet but still super exciting because they have some seriously power hitting vocals in this group, I just know it will be beautiful.
March 15th Trendz – Blue Set Chapter New Days
I might be a little biased because I’ve gotten to meet these kids a couple of times but they are seriously hard working and so talented and I know that this new album is going to be better than the last ones because each one they put in even more work and effort and always come out with something supper unique and interesting.
March 20th NMIXX – Expergo
I in secret have become a really big fan of NMIXX so I’m interested and excited to see what this comeback will fully sound like when it is released.
March 21st Bobby – Unknown Single
Our first Bobby release post Ikon leaving YG AND they gave us a world tour announcement. Ikonics, how we feeling?!?
March 23rd Kingdom – PartVI Mujin
I know this is the era most people are probably super excited for since Mujin is finally going to be king They really never disappoint with any of the music that they put out and I think Peak Time did them so dirty and they deserve way better than they were treated on that show.
RUMORED JWIIVER COMEBACK
I know we don’t have a solid date YET for this, but I believe Raots and he said March….Do I believe in Starweave, no not really because these boys have deserved a comeback way before now. But I am hoping, since Raots said they’ve been working hard lately that we will get good news and a new album will be coming out way soon that we can support and hopefully hype up enough to keep them going.
I know I didn’t stick as well to my TBR last month as I wished I had, but I did actually finish some books, one of which was a review copy I’d had for a long time. So for that, I am proud. This month starts my new work contract meaning I will be driving a lot for the next couple of weeks, meaning time for audiobooks. So I re-downloaded Audible on to my phone and am going to focus on finishing books on there as well as some other goals. I really want to stay away from purchasing books and read from the Library or Kindle Unlimited or what I already own, which I did not buy any books last month so that at least is a plus! This month, we shall see since I’ll have income again. I also need to finish some of the books that I started last month, so let’s see what I want to work on in March!
Crazy For Young Adult Books March Challenge – Paranormal The Awakening by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti
Despite being a shorter month, I was able to read the same amount of books as I was for January! I’m pretty proud with how I am doing with my reading goal so far this year, and if I end up hitting it early in the year I’m really interested to see how many books I can end up reading! I also actually finished some TBR books this month so I feel pretty proud of that, even some of the others have been started I just haven’t finished them yet, which is okay! So let’s get just right on it to the wrap up now!
180 Seconds by Jessica Park
Publication Date: April 25th 2017 Publisher: Skyspace Genre|Subject: New Adult | Romance Pages: 302 Rating: ★★★★☆
Some people live their entire lives without changing their perspective. For Allison Dennis, all it takes is 180 seconds…
After a life spent bouncing from one foster home to the next, Allison is determined to keep others at arm’s length. Adopted at sixteen, she knows better than to believe in the permanence of anything. But as she begins her third year in college, she finds it increasingly difficult to disappear into the white noise pouring from her earbuds.
One unsuspecting afternoon, Allison is roped into a social experiment just off campus. Suddenly, she finds herself in front of a crowd, forced to interact with a complete stranger for 180 seconds. Neither she, nor Esben Baylor, the dreamy social media star seated opposite her, is prepared for the outcome.
When time is called, the intensity of the experience overwhelms Allison and Esben in a way that unnerves and electrifies them both. With a push from her oldest friend, Allison embarks on a journey to find out if what she and Esben shared is the real thing—and if she can finally trust in herself, in others, and in love.
What an emotional time. I can honestly say coming out from reading this book I was not expecting it to be like that at all. As someone who suffers from Mental Illness I am always open to reading any book that may touch on the subject in one way or another, despite the type or what kind of trauma it may be from. So while I can’t relate to Allison’s history I could really relate to a lot of her feelings and thoughts and the inner workings of her being through out this book. But what I thought would be mostly about overcoming past traumas and growing as a person, while we did end up getting that, was a heart-wrenching story about finding yourself and how important it is to put faith in others to help grow as a person.
I just want to touch on things lightly because I really do not want to give anything away when it comes to the end plot of this story, but if you’re an easily emotional person like myself I have to warn to please have tissues by your side while you are reading at least the second half of this book. I have not full on sobbed while reading a book like I did while reading 180 Seconds in a VERY long time. To be honest I kind of picked up on what was going to happen from about the 30% mark of the book and just knew what the ending twist to move the story would be. What I didn’t know was how much it was going to affect me and how hard I would take it, despite knowing what would happen.
This book is such a beautifully told story of Allison and gives so much hope that despite how we may be feeling now, despite what we may be thinking now, despite the anxiety the depression the isolation, everyone has a chance at a different life and we are all capable of finding people that will understand us and help us to become the person that we were meant to be. I really read this book in less than 24 hours after taking years to pick it up because I could not put it down and I had to know how things were going to change and what would happen next. Some parts definitely flew by for the timeline and I wish there was a little more, for lack of a better word, a little more meat to some parts of the story, but I can understand how things moved to align the timeline to where it needed to be for the plot points. I highly enjoyed this read, much more than I expected, and am very upset with how long I waited to finally pick this up.
As I was writing the title I realized I don’t like calling it a comeback post because I want and do talk about debuts that I am looking forward to in them as well. Also, with it being so early in the month this is honestly going to end up being like last month and having two parts. I’ve been using kprofiles for the information because I am terrible at keeping up, but as of right now I know about a comeback/release that isn’t even listed there yet!? So for now, here is what has been announced for February that I am looking forward to!!!
February 6th
BSS – Finally, the sub unit return we have all been waiting for
February 8th
Somehow while already in the military Ha Sung Woon will be releasing a digital single Snowy Stars and as the HSW Ult that I am I will be listening and crying to this lovely winter ballad I can just feel it in my bones
February 13th
The new TripleS unit…group…honestly I have no idea what they are doing with these girls or how they are organizing things other than setting them up to continuously rotate, but I know Generations was a bop so I am excited to hear whatever it is this new song may be
A KEY REPACK. YAAAASSSSS The King is coming back. I had heard there was rumor he was getting a repack but we finally have a date and I am so excited to see what he delivers with this one
February 15th
Finally FINALLY we have a TNX comeback. Like it has been so long since Move came out and this comeback sound is so different but I have been dying for these boys to comeback so I am so amped that it is finally just around the corner.
February 23rd
I feel like I’ve been following Biscuit Boys for like ever so the fact they have a name and are going to debut this month feels weird. I’m not honestly sure how I feel about the name but I will be keeping my eye on this debut that is for sure.
It has been such a LONG time since I have been able to write one of these posts. Honestly I am pretty proud of myself for being able to finish 3 books and 3 manga this past month. Going from someone who has been struggling to read lately to finishing 3 whole books, one of which I got to physically read, is such a big step in the right direction. Of course I have been setting my monthly TBRs pretty high, considering I only set a goal of reading 30 books this year, but that’s because I like to think of it as giving myself options but also forcing myself to commit to things I should have already taken care of. So without further rambling, here are the 6 books and my ratings from January!
Lia and Beckett’s Abracadabra by Amy Noelle Parks – ★★★★✩ This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab – ★★★★★ Demon Slayer Vol 1 – ★★★★★ Demon Slayer Vol 2 – ★★★★★
The Stand-In by Lily Chu – ★★★★✩ Deko-Boko Sugar Days – ★★★★✩
So typically for these I’ll give the top 10 songs that I listened to the most for the past month, but to be honest I did a lot of comfort listening to Omega X (as per usual lately) and songs 2-10 are all Omega X songs….Actually out of the top 20 only 7 of them are non Omega X songs. So I figure I’ll list the top 20 songs but instead of videos to them all, I’ll only post the videos to the top 3 Omega X songs as well as the other non OX songs. That way this post shows other things I’m listening to instead of just an Omega.X review. I’ve just been an emotional mess since October, idk what else to tell you.
So, did I stick to my TBR last month?!? Kind of, but to see 100% of what I read you are gonna have to come back tomorrow for my wrap up. As for today, I probably will roll over some things that I wanted to read/needed to read this last month that didn’t get read while also adding to books to the list. So let’s get on it to it
Crazy For Young Adult Books February Challenge – Romance The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
